European Sallet Helmet w/ Visor
The sallet or salade was popular across much of Europe throughout the second half of the 15th century. This reconstruction features a moveable visor (introduced late in the period to improve visibility), a reinforcing brow plate and a bevor for protection of the jaw and throat. This helm replicates an original piece found in the church at Witton-le-Wear in County Durham, England. Both the helm and the moveable visor are crafted in 14-gauge steel and the Sallet is fully wearable with an adjustable leather liner and chinstrap. Excellent head protection for the weapons-contact re-enactor.
