The popular Shinto Katana is the corner stone of Hanwei's line of Samurai weapons. The Shinto is mounted in black and the tsuka-ito is in Japanese cotton over ray skin. The black iron tsuba is formed by a finely rendered dragon, detailed in gold, with true back-and-front detail. The blade is hand-forged in high-carbon steel and is edge-tempered using the traditional clay tempering method, resulting in a distinct hamon. Edge hardness is 60HRC, back hardness 40HRC. The grip is double-pegged to the tang for safety. The Shinto Katana is built for cutting and is supplied with a protective cloth bag and traditional maintenance kit for easy storage and up keep.

This sword is not up to the same qualtiy as the Musashi Daito by Hanwei.
I own both and I was not pleased at how the fittings of the Shinto blade and the Tsuba became loose over time.
The balance and feel of the sword as you swing it full force is not near the same as the feel and balance of the Musashi Daito.
A significant vibration developed in Handle of the blade. When you swing it full force you can feel movement of the tang in the handle.
For the price it is an Ok sword but for just a bit more money you will be better off buying the Musashi Daito.
