This is a well made sword. Very solid. The things that made me give it a lower rating: 1) blade is shorter than most Katanas; and, 2) the finish on the blade is 'rough'.

My first buy, You get what you pay for.
Something that is Functional but Average.
If you want something that is not just decrotive
than this is the blade for you.

I am very pleased with this as the Price is value for money.
Here are things you need to be aware of before you buy this one though:

Its a plain design, nothing too fancy.

A lot shorter (and heavier) than I though it would be.
Nice long handle.

Thought the Craftmanship was only OK. Like
a factory just churning them out at a cheap price,
rather than someone putting a bit of effort
into making it.

The blade finish was
OK, not very sharp at all but it did have an edge.

There was a bit of oil staining on the leather of the
scabbard and the brown leather was not all a uniform colour.
The blade rattled in the wooden scabbard I dont know if this is normal or not.

I had this sword last year and the edge was sharp enough to cut paper and it cut good through trees but the edge bends and the blade twists cutting through them, but it held up great in a duel.

The sword seems alright, I would like to see a somewhat DECENT review about it before I consider purchasing it. However everyone all anyone seems to be talkin about on any of these products is cutting trees and smashing it into concrete walls, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT! These aren\'t super weapons and they\'re not toys, if you want to cut down a tree, buy an axe. You\'re a little sad because it started coming lose after you hit it up against a tree, what did you expect! The sword was created to slice through flesh and bone, not trees!

This katana is an excellent sword, a little blade heavy, but easy to adjust to. Blade is sturdy, and as mentioned by a past reviewer, if you are interested in a good weapon, not something for cutting down trees or smashing into concrete, this is the sword for you.

for you money, it's a very good sword, it's short and blade-heavy which is less than ideal but it's strong enought to stand up to blows from other blades, however it's it carbon steel and so it rusts quickly and easily; constant upkeep is required.

dont let that discourage you though it's a very good sword, it comes only semi-sharp but it can easily be sharpened to a razor edge, and I mean *sharp* like cut yourself and not notice untill theres a pint of blood over your arm sharp :)

all in all when zombies invade the earth this little baby's the one I'm gonna hack 'em apart with
