The sword was very nice looking and had some cool features such as the locking device. How ever the sword that i got was not solid at all. the blade would flex at the smallest touch. also the blade and the tang started to come apart from eachother. i'm not sure if it was just a flaw in the sword i got, or if all of them are like this. but be careful when buying this particular sword.

A year of gazing at it on the internet, and my girlfriend had had enough and bought it for me as a surprise gift. Rock solid, a beautiful contact sound, not too sharp but how many of us are actually gonna be using it practically. Overall flawless sword.

I recently purchased this sword because i saw it online read the description of it and fell in love. When i received it i was disapointed by swords sharpness but for the price u are getting alot. It looks absolutely great, the sheath is awsome. The handle is heavy but it balences right at the tsuba. The blade looks very nice with its high shine coating and as a display item this sword is a 10. For functionality, the blade works itself lose very quickly and will move around abit when swung. As for cutting things it works great for slicing an apple out of the air. But i would strongly advise against cutting anything of a higher density. Overall this sword is amazing for less than a hundred dollars and on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 6.

ok... this sword is very good for the price, and as for the sharpness, ALL SWORDS ARE NOT SHARP WHEN YOU GET THEM! ITS UP TO YOU TO SHARPEN THEM!! dont let the swordsmith do all the work, cuz he doesnt know how sharp customers want it, so he made it a lil sharp, not alot, so that even the customers intending to use it for display only will buy it, and the blade worked itself very loose quickly because u probably hit it with a hard object, it was probably so hard that your swords "unsharpened" blade was no match, so it was just like hitting that object with a baseball bat!.. if you sharpen it with a good sharpener, i bet, like mine, it would cut through 3 bamboo sticks on top of each other, on a scale of 10 its an 8..

This sword is amazingly well balanced! it is perfectly split from blade to handle right on the hilt. It's nearly effortless to wield. it's heavy but the balance makes up for it. The sharpness is slightly above average on the sides but extremely sharp at the point. The blade is polished to a mirror reflective shine and the handle is a metal, and solid feeling. I wouldn't guess it to be an encapsulated tang (full length) but i might be. because it's more fantasy than practical I would guess it was half length push tang. I would say no contact use because I'm not sure of the tang (though the handle could take a beating) and because its a 420, 440 stainless steel blade which makes it a little on the brittle side. for a display it realy couldn't be a better value. I love this sword. a must have.
This sword is great. While it is on the heavy side the great balance makes up for this and you will soon get used to the weight. The sword looks superb, the finish and quality is excellent. Everything was nice and tight as well, no loss parts at all. The blade is a little on the flimsy side so i would not recommend it for any sort of heavy duty cutting. However it handles fruit and other vegetable and plant matter without a problem.
The point of the blade is quite sharp but the rest of the edge is fairly blunt so you won't have to worry about cutting yourself. That being said, if you do want the sword to be sharp then its a simple matter of sharpening it up.
Overall this is an excellent sword and well worth the price. It looks and handles great. If your thinking about getting it, don't hesitate. You won't regrett it, i didn't.

To start off, this is my first sword, and I'm really not disappointed with it. The quality is higher than I have expected, although the painting on the metal parts have some small flaws.
It's heavier than it looks, but the balance is just great.
The edges are sharp, but I couldn't cut myself even with some effort, so I think I'm going to sharpen it a bit myself; the point of the blade is quite dangerous however. I used very little power ramming the blade into my wooden cupboard, and now, well, the cupboard has one more hole.
The scabbard looks really great, although it is quite heavy. It's painted like leather, but it's aluminium, therefore it's very sturdy.
I'm really happy that I bought this precious piece of work and can only recommend it, I'm not only in love with it, it's already a part of myself!

What can I say? This weapon is absolutely beautiful.
I have been drooling over this on the internet for years and I finally worked up the courage to make an order and it's everything I had hoped. I am an avid sword collector, I have both functional and decorative pieces and this is one of my favourites. For all those idiots who whinged about the brittle blade, or about how the blade came loose after using it, just LOOK AT THE THING! It's a bloody work of art and anyone who goes out and hits something with it doesn't deserve to own it, you might as well go and spill water on the Mona Lisa just to see if it's water-proof!
All-in-all this sword is a magnificent fusion of sci-fi and fantasy, it's great for non-contact form use and display, heavy but beautifully balanced and great for pulling oohs and aahs from your friends.

This one's a real treasure I tell you, it looks great wherever you put it and it has practicaly no flaws in the painting. The lock that keeps the sword from the scabbard is a well-made mechanical device. It really holds one from drawing the sword without knowing where the button is (not so hard to find if you look for it though)
I want to quote the guy before me:
"You may as well pour water on the Mona Lisa to see if it's water-proof" allthough I haven't tested it (and I won't) i think I can surely say that it would hold together fine. the only thing that anoys me a little is that the button tend to get a little in the way when you swing this beauty around, but it's just the pea under the maddrasses.
Sumary: Sw33t! beautiful and very well done, put it up by using a table stand and you.ve got yourself an eye-catcher. Not so sharp but very well painted, and the mechanical parts work well.

This is a good sword. My friend has the samurai 3000 katana, and in my opinion that sword looks better. This sword is shorter than the samurai 3000 katana and is inferior in terms of looks to the samurai 3000 katana, but this sword has that "vibration" sound when it is drawn from the sheath. Not very sharp, but is a brilliant piece of art. It even smells nice (kinda like water?).

now i havent had this item for long but i would have to agree that this sword is heavy but balanced and i dont know how functional it is but it is half push tang. the locking mecanism does get a little annoying after a while espesaly if you want to draw it fast a the button is stuck

I do not recomend getting this sword for any use even light myn has broken and i can tell you it dsnt take much poorly crafted the sword itself retreats deep into the handle but only as a pencil think peace of metal very easily broken the handel is also only held together by this peace of metal if a break occurs the swords handel will literaly fall into pieces.

I\'ve had this sword for about one year now, and I still love to stare at it! It\'s a beauty for looks, but I\'m not sure about it for contact use I would be to scared to try because I love it to much! I actually got this somewhere else in a 3-sword set for 250$ plus a stand this one being the largest of the group. It\'s the only sword I own so I don\'t have anything to compare it too. I do plan on having a large collection someday though. For myself it\'s on the top ten for best looking swords I have ever seen. The edge is not very sharp(mine at least) I can tightly grip my fingers around it, but I have gotten a small cut on my hand once, nothing big though. I\'m confident enough to swing it around a bit. It does have a quite sharp tip though. All around it\'s a great price for such a beauty. I would recommend it. Oh and what\'s really cool about my set is that each sword has the holes in it(As seen in the photo here) The largest with three, then middle sized 2, and smallest 1.

Beautiful, beautiful sword. High quality aluminum scabbard. This is a display only piece, i wouldn't dare swing it at anything tougher than a beanbag. Despite that, though, this sword still gets all the oohs and ahhs from my guests that see it. Overall a good buy.
Wonderful piece of workmanship. You can easily picture this blade on the set of the next boxoffice-breaking sci-fi film.
Beware of knock-offs, particularly on Ebay. The look is nearly identical, but the craftsmanship is extremely poor.

My friend owns this sword, and i was checking it out one day. I noticed that it was really sharp, sharper than most of the ones i own. i swung it arouind, and i felt that the blade was just about almost perfectly balanced, and i noticed no faults on the blade. The blade was also light and easy to handle. To conclude, this is a great piece of work that looks great and also is good for some light contacts

Okay, I got this sword because it looked cool, and I was not disappointed. It looks freakin cool.
The hilt and the blade appear to be well crafted. The blade itself is not very sharp, the point however is needle like and will easily cut. The only disappointing aspect to this sword was the balance: the hilt is heavily weighted, and thus, if this sword was ever truly intended to be a practical weapon, you will have difficulty wielding it.
However, if your intent is the same as mine - simply to display it - you will not be disappointed with this fine piece.

This sword is amazing. When I first saw this sword I was Skeptical, but after holding it in my hand and swinging it a little, I now think it's one of the best swords out there for the price. It's well balanced and has a very sharp tip to it.

I just received this sword today, and it just melted my soul. The sword is beautiful, the weight is balanced, and it just gives you a powerful feeling when you hold it. I think another reviewer said it best, \"This swords makes you feel like you can take on the world.\" And it really does. The edges of the sword aren\'t really sharp but it\'s the kind of edge that, with enough force, could probably do some damage to someone or something. The tip, however, is incredibly sharp, so be careful with it. The locking mechanism is neat, though it can take some getting used to. As for functionality, since I don\'t plan on sparring or going out killing people, I\'d say display only. I would be crushed if this sword got even the slightest \'knick\' on it because I tried to hack and lash something with it. As it stands now, there are no knicks, chips, or scratches on it -- and I plan to keep it that way. The blade itself could use some polishing though, as it seems to have some grime left over on it. It\'s nothing that can\'t be easily cleaned off, and it\'s over-lookable anyway. The sword is just that pleasing to the eye.
The price, time it took to be delivered, and the sword itself were absolutely perfect. I look forward to one day buying the Katana or perhaps the Tanto -- maybe both, to have a complete set.

Beautiful looking blade, simply the best looking weapon I own, and is always the key favorite choice of my friends. Futuristic looking and a dream to look at.
But
VERY thin blade, I would not trust this to take on a piece of wood or branch or anything, it doesn't look to be strong enough to handle contact. With the material it's made of, the way it is made, and the thickness of the blade, it is not meant to slice through doors.
It's heavy.. A lot heavier than any functional katana you will get. The scabbard is also heavy, so it is not easy to swing around with agility.
Overall, I like this sword, a lot. It's a show sword, not a function sword. Makes a cool sound when you swing it around through the air, but don't let it hit anything.

Very nice sword. A bit heavy, overall, but well balanced -- it is, after all, all metal, including handle and everything. I would ***not*** recommend this sword for stage fighting, or even any sort of play-fighting, but it is fun to use -- and is very effective on pumpkins!
