This sword isn't very sharp, but it is durable and of a quality that is uncomparable to anything else of this price.

This is an excellent sword! Not traditional in its look or feel, but sturdy and sharp nonetheless. I usually take mine hunting with me for use as a machete or for that extra feeling of security at night out in the country. How sharp is it, some may ask? Very. I have cut myself with it pretty bad due to a careless mistake. The blade glanced off the target and, because I had a loose grip on it, got me right above my eye. It didn't put it out thankfully. Sad but true, the doctors were impressed by how clean the cut was, therefore making it easier to sew. So yes, this sword is very sharp so please take caution when handling it.

A really good Item considering the material and craftmanship; also for its price is really functional. One of its grat features is that you can sharpen it if you want; it bends sometimes but flexiblity is a must in every weapon if you dont want to crack it like glass. My only observation is that the cord that is wrapped around the handle gets a little loose because is wrapped over a relatively smooth surface. But overall its very well balanced and handles pretty well despite the fact of not having a guard. A must in every collection for its price, functionality and look.

I've hacked a few things up out in the yard with this blade, and it did get a few nicks in the blade from hitting the stuff you'd expect to do that. This blade is very nice-looking, has a nice, simple but cool look to it, and I'd recommend it to anyone, especially those who would like to own a relatively inexpensive blade for light functionality or just something to look at.

I would not advise using this blade for full contact swordfighting, nor for heavy machete-type use, but I am not experienced in either, so don't take my word for it. =)

For thirteen bucks, this blade is well worth the price. I'm quite pleased.

ok, first off this is my very first sword, and i am extremely impressed with it. as soon as i took it out of the box i checked it over end to end and found absolutely no visible flaws. after one swing though the wrapping on the handle slid off half way and i had to put it back on. this being my first sword, i didnt really care how it looked just as long as it was usable so i wrapped electrical tape around the top and bottom of the handle to prevent it from sliding off, and since its black its not all that noticable and still looks good. the second day i had this i took it in the back yard with my friend and we hacked a couple things up. i have a baby oak tree that was growing in the flower garden and i took one good swing at it and chopped it right over, the cleanest cut ive ever seen. i checked the blade after that and there was no marks at all. this is a truley impressive blade, not the sharpest but i assume that can be fixed. if your looking for a relatively inexpensive sword that doesnt have to look the best and can be used for whatever, this is it.

this is an awsome sword. the only problem is that the handle wrapping comes loose if swung around quickly. this is my first purchase frome swords onlyine and i plan to buy more. this is a good blade for begginers.

Got the sword today, the cord handle needs to be fixed (can be done using grip tape used on hockey sticks) and the blade can use a good sharpening. I did cut down some branches with it on the first few swings. All in all, a good sword for a great price! Truly impressive! This is my first order on weaponmasters.com and I will order again in the near future!

not first let me say that I am a novice so don't fall in love with my words. the sword has a great sense of weight that lets me know where it is in the air when I swing it. Now the blade won't cut you if you run your finger across it, but that can be fixed by an expert and a cutting stone. However, with the proper force mine slices through apples and melons with ease- as if cutting empty air. and i think I prefere it that way, it keeps my brother from cutting peple in half with it. The cord wrap it comes with, well, it's crap and mine was cming off from out of the box

Overall for it's price and funtionality, I give this swords a 4 out of 5
Perfect for novices and making fruit salads.

This sword is a very good sword for any collector or ninja. The swword is very light, sleek, and averagly sharp when I first got it.Now for the bad things about the sword. The cordwrap comes off ealisly along with the power cote (the black paint)and the tip isnt very pointy. All and all this sword is very good . By the way be carfull of how you put the sword in the scabbard-sheeth it tears holes in it.

This is a great sword for the money. A little unbalanced due to the length, and the handle wrapping starts to slide off (easily fixed with tape) with heavy use, but altogether a great deal. This sword came much sharper than I expected. It cut through branches of up to 1/2" thick with surprising ease, and cleans up well. Just be sure to clean the blade well after use, as it will tend to rust if not properly taken care of.. But then again, that's true of most swords.

I collect swords ranging from scottish to japanese katanas to double staff swords and even German fantasy swords. I am proud to have this sword in my collection. It is made of a pratically usable metal and it is still very light. The case is quite usefull dispite the occasional rip. Even the cord wrap often slips it has never come too loose or off completely. The sword has a great balancing point near the finger guard which is quite handy for fast manuevering. Pluss its has a full tang and body so you dont have to worry about the body comming loose. For it's price it is a superb buy. And in the job of bounty hunting, it has served quite well in intimidation and self deffense.

I would first like to say that i own two swords like this, and are crafted the same way...the last review i suggest no one pay any attention to, because anyone who bashes their sword against a tree, isn't fit to own one. This sword is fine, i have clashed mine against another one, and there was barely even a knick in it. The only problem with it, is the grip wears loose quick, so use super glue right away.

This is my first sword from Swordsonline, and it was much better than I expected for the price. The sheath is not stiff, though, so it can be hard to pull out the sword at some points. Otherwise, it was a very good buy. I took it out to cut some reed-like things (sort of like weak bamboo) and it cut through seven in ONE SLICE. Overall a very nice buy.

This is a very durable sword. When I got it it wasn\'t very sharp but I sharpend it so it was very sharp. I was practising with it in a grove of trees and I was pretty pumped and when I sliced one tree, it cut a 3inch tree in two with ease. And I\'m not very big.The only downside is that the wrapping is lose and came off. So I re-wrapped it and tucked the end under a loop, then superglued it. Now it works great.

I actually bought this sword since i just needed an addition to my collection and it was something i could easily affoard. really, i expected it to be a piece of crap, but when i got it, i was really supprised. it was my first SwordsOnline.com purchase i have made so far, and with some grip tape and some additional electric tape, it has been my best actyal blade purchase. i have two other blades that are better, but one was a gift from a karate academy and the other was a fluke from a broken blade handle!

This blade is well worth the price, and would be a great sword to start a collection with. The edge isn't too sharp, but it is sharp enough to cut someone if pressure is applied. The blade feels sturdy and would stand up to some blows. It is very light and feels balanced well enough. If you buy two, they would be perfect for duel wielding. There is only two problems I could find. The scabbard is poor and begins to fall apart real soon. The blade also shows finger prints badly(I found myself constantly cleaning off finger prints after my friends handled the blade). All in all, I would say this blade is a very good buy. BUY IT!

I recently bought one and the black from the blade had chip marks and the blade had niks in it. All it is really good for is beating it on wood, I tried to use it for real with a friend and the blade just crumpled in. The metal could be better and stronger, the sheath isn't too bad though. It holds the sword in, thats good enough...

I bought this sword about one month ago and the only complaint i have is the grip loosens, but that can be glued and is a very minor problem, other than that, this is an amazing, and strong sword.

...and some adhesive on the wrapping and you have yourself and combat-ready ninja sword for $13.99. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. The sheath isn't the most durable, but it works well. The balance is a little farther back than I like, but the edge is still "whippable." For those who have trained with broadsword or katanas, this is a good sword to practice with and get used to the shorter length of a ninja sword.

a good ninja sword although a little shorter than I had imagined but it is a lot stronger than I imagined as well. The only true problem I have with it is the black paint on it tends to scratch off but its no big deal....right?

Me and my friend bought two of these these (each) for full contact use in a demonstration. We figured that about $25 was pretty cheap, and expected the swords to break.

The swords came too sharp for our use, which is a good thing for most people. We filed them down within about 15 minutes.

So far, we've just practiced, and we've probably hit the swords together 50+ times. These things are extremely tough for the price. You can barely see the marks. There are some problems with slight paint chipping, but it's not noticable. Also, the handle slides off after use, but some tape will fix that.

The swords also have great balance and are fairly light.

Great value, buy them.

This is a very nice sword. Decent sharpness (about the same as a butterfly knife). The scabbard is nice and sturdy and the blade itself is quite strong. I would have to say that this is an awesome deal!

The sheath it comes with is great. the sword is good quality but the handle wrap came off very quickly. i re-wraped it with electrical tape with turned out to work extremely well. this sword can take a beating so i recommended it to anyone who wants a cheap sword to bash stuff with. ;)

hm...first impressions

-The blade is short, but this is good because this is not your battlefield type blade. In the sheath it fits on my back so that if I were to lean over it wouldn't bang against anything. I'm 6'2 though so for others it may differ.

-The blade is not very sharp. To me this was no big deal. It will draw blood. Don't spar with it as your friends may object to losing blood.

-The metal is good. It's not your carbon steel, uber powerful, etc type blade. The blade will hold though, don't worry. Just don't go clashing metal with it constantly.

-The handle on mine seems to be fine. I know a lot of guys in the other reviews were complaining about the handle coming off, but mine is staying put. Maybe some initiative was taken to get them better made.

-The blade isn't very thick. It's about as thick as your cursor turns into the "I" thing for typing.

Overall, I like it. I bought this weapon because it seemed like the kind of weapon you would carry on a cloak and dagger mission. Very cool

I took it out of the box expecting something a bit longer but its a nice blade for the price, I mean, it\'ll put a hole in someone right? I cut the hell out of the box it came in and the edge came out a little, but overall I think a good buy for the price and am fairly happy with it.

This blade is my seccond purchace from weaponmasters.com and i realy like it. The blade is shorter than others but that is what is cool about it. I plan on buying a second. For the price it is a realy great blade.

i\'ve known that me and my friend\'s training is a little, harsh, on some of our blades. But this blade held up nicely, until today.

i had sharpened it last night and went to test it today. i used two pieces of bamboo (1nch dia) wrapped in newspaper and tape to simulate an arm. The first cut swiftly without much effort, the 2nd cut snapped the blade in two.

I now have a nifty looking tanto, this IS a good sword for its price, just be advised; it may or may not hold up to your level of handling

When i first got this it was a little shorter than expected so i suggest before buying measure out the actual length with a ruler or something so you know how long it really is. It is fun to play around with I set up 3 cans filled with water and sliced through all of them in one swoop. I gave it light contact use because i know for sure you can tear up boxes, fruit, and cans with it but i dont know about against another sword. The edge is kinda sharp and could use a little sharpening cause i can\'t cut all the way through a two liter filled with water. The metal isnt really what i expected either its more flimsy that i thought and could probably bend. Overall this is worth the money cause you can have fun with it just cutting cans filled with water, fruit or plants.
