The sword is very well made and the guard and pommel are of good quality brass. I have had a motto engraved on the guard, which very much personalizes the sword. It's short and very well balanced, easy to wield and beautiful when used. Blade is live steel and requires good care, takes and holds an edge easy and WILL cut you if you're not careful. Scabbard is average. You instantly take a liking to it and of the 24 swords I own this is my most faithful companion. Every inch worth it's money.
