Combining the slashing power of the Samurai Katana with the agility and thrusting ability of fine European dueling swords, the Dark Sentinel is a handsome sword with a bite. Presented by Hanwei, the sword measures 47 5/8" overall making it light and quick enough for single-hand fencing but with the ability to turn on two-handed power. With a 31 7/8" sharpened high carbon spring steel bade and black suede wrapped handle with steel studs, the brushed steel tsuba and pommel create an elegant appearance and enhance this wonderful masterpiece. This katana is fully functional and weights approximately 2 lbs. 15 oz.

I got this swords a few months ago and I absolutely love it. The steel studs on the handle glint in any light and the blade itself is beautiful, although it does scratch pretty easily and any scrathes are very visible. it comes sharpened and pretty well straight out of the box but does loose its edge after a bit of use so a sharpener or sharpening stone is reccomended. I was scepticle about the handle lenght at first but it makes for a very powerful weapon when you get used to it. overall its an amazing and beautiful sword and I reccomend it to any moderatly experienced to very experienced swordsman who is looking for a good weapon for full contact use or anybody looking for a nice display sword, though it would be a shame to confine it to a stand.
