As the box shows, you can either wear it on your back like a sword, or on your belt. Personally I recommend having it on the small of your back parallel to your belt.

It looks to be very well crafted and it comes sharpened. The black finish on the blade obviously stops where the straight blade part is, but I noticed that the edges on the serrations were all covered in black finish, nor were they very sharp. A little sharpening fixed that, however. Also about the serrated edge, they are a bit wide and the valleys are a bit shallow, but it does its job nicely (as I noticed when I was carving up the box it came in >_>) The black finish is very appealing, however it comes off easily (the finish was marred from simply cutting cardboard). The cord on the grip was, to my surprise, very sturdy and tight. It seems like it would take quite a bit of effort to loosen it enough for it to slip off. It also feels great to hold. The sheath/scabbard is nice, but I couldn't figure out how to lace it correctly >_> I'm sure I'll get it, though. It seems very sturdy and able to take a beating, although I don't know how it will fare in actual combat. It seems like it would be able to withstand quite a few blows from a larger blade, as it is constructed from one piece. Overall, I recommend this tanto.

Like the other review said, the serrations are NOT deep, but they\'ll get the job done anyhow. The tip of course is real sharp, the blade itself could use some sharpening though. The sheath comes with too short a strap to do it like it shows in the picture...which I think is impossible anyhow. I\'m small built and not fat, it won\'t even come close to the going over my back like it shows in the picture, but it goes around my leg just fine. Overall, very, very good for the price.
