This classic saber originated in Persia but was also used in India during the 13th and 14th centuries. The long curved blade was best used for sweeping strokes and piercing gashes. While we are no longer faced with charging duels, the ability to provide replicas to collectors and re-enactors is our way of contributing to the preservation of historical events. We feel this Shamshir, or Scimitar, definitely meets any quality standards. One glance at the stainless steel blade, hardwood handle, and brass hilt and pommel, and you're sure to be swept away. Includes top quality sheath. 46 1/2" overall, 34" blade

A very nice piece, its alot larger than it looks bit is still great, the only thing that lets it down is the cross guard which looks a little on the cheap side. Still a very good buy though!

A very impressive weapon. I must agree with the other reviewer and say that the cross guard is a touch cheap looking, but that the sword itself is still a great buy. It is bigger than I had thought it would be, but it also very light considering how sturdy it feels.
